10 Years and still going strong

Health In Our Hands will shortly be celebrating its 10th birthday. The centre opened in May 2002 with a small group of 6 volunteers, a lot of enthusiasm and the support of project staff. Of the 6 original volunteers there are still 4 of them still working at the centre and over the years there have been many others too.

At this time all but 5 of our 18 current volunteers have received at least a 5 year long service award. Without this dedication the centre could not have prospered as it has done so. In the background there has remained a support network of interested people and organisation's who have provided support in many ways, for example, training, mentoring and promotion plus many others all of which has helped the centre to maintain and increase its presence in our community.

We are planning a series of thank you events for all our volunteers, supporters and clients over the next few months and we hope to be around to celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2022.
